Backers of the failed Issue 3 campaign that would have legalized marijuana for personal and medical use in Ohio say they plan to come back to the ballot in 2016. It’s the Great American Smokeout Day, when the American Cancer Society urges smokers to quit cold turkey.  Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles says anti-smoking advocates are considering how the indoor smoking ban has impacted the state.

Friday is the national Transgender Day of Remembrance, for people who committed suicide or were killed in acts of violence against trans people. Two state lawmakers are observing it with a bill they say will help trans and LGBT teens.
