AG fires "top cop" after charges that he was still getting paid from by a local police department.
By Karen Kasler - April 20, 2007
Attorney General Marc Dann has fired a top aide and asked for an ethics investigation into the employee's activities. Dann's spokesman Leo Jennings says the attorney General was alerted by an anonymous tipster that chief of law enforcement operations Rick Alli was "double dipping" - he was still getting a paycheck from the Youngstown Police Department.

Jennings says an anonymous tipster notified the attorney general's office about the situation. Alli was earning a salary of $118-thousand for his attorney general job. Dann, a Democrat, says he's joining the City of Youngstown in asking the Ohio Ethics Commission to investigate the employment situation.
