Reds give the green light to new manager, who says the team will get better.
By Mark Heyne - October 15, 2007
New manager Dusty Baker promises the Reds will improve and he's hoping to help them win a World Series. Baker was introduced today during a press conference at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.

Baker becomes the 60th field manager in Reds' history and the first hired outside the organization since Lou Piniella in 1990. He's managed the San Francisco Giants and Chicago Cubs. During his fourteen years as a Major League manager he has a .527 winning percentage and has taken his team to the playoffs four times. The Reds have signed Baker to a contract through the 2010 season.
