Arrange for an Ohio college student to work in your office. Later, hire him or her as a full-time employer. Then, get a tax break! That's the thrust of a new proposal being floated in the state legislature. Rep. Jim Hughes (R-Columbus) is the author of the measure, and he talked about it with statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen.
The student intern proposal has a long way to go before it becomes law. It's just received its very first hearing in the Ohio House Finance Committee...and it still needs to be okayed by the full House and Senate. |
