One in ten Ohioans getting food stamps, and many who are eligible aren't getting them.
By Jo Ingles - March 24, 2008
Ten percent of Ohioans rely on food stamps each month to make ends meet. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reports food stamp usage in Ohio is at an all time high. Agency spokesman Brian Harter says Ohio's poor economy is to blame.

Harter says the number of Ohioans receiving food stamps has doubled since 2001. One point one million Ohioans now collect food stamps but Harter believes another half million more are eligible but not collecting the assistance.
