Mystery writer takes readers into the unusual world of Ohio's Amish.
By Fred Kight - July 14, 2008
When P.L. Gaus writes a book, he gives his readers two mysteries. One is your standand "whodunnit". The other is the world of the Amish.

Gaus lives in Wooster, and recently retired as head of the chemistry department at the College of Wooster. He started writing novels in 1995. His speciality is mysteries involving the Amish, who live in large numbers in neighboring Holmes County.

Gaus's latest book is "Separate from the World; An Ohio Amish Mystery." He writes about modern medicine splitting one Amish congregation in half.
"Separate from the World" is published by Ohio University Press. O-U Press reports books in Gaus's Amish series are among its most popular.
