This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. Small business group reaching out to those who can't get standard bank loans.

Over the past few years, fewer banks have been processing Small Business Administration loans. But since small businesses account for much of country's economic growth, the SBA has created a program to spark new interest in its loans. Scot Hardin is with the Small Business Administration office in Columbus.




Hardin says the new program is limited to loans of $350,000 or less. The SBA is promising to process applications in three to five days for routine loans.
