Order Online : "The State of Ohio"

Safety officials use anniversary of terror attacks to remind Ohioans to be prepared for more.
By Karen Kasler - September 11, 2008
As the nation remembers the tragedy of September 11, 2001, people are being warned not to be complacent, and prepare for emergencies in the future. At a memorial at the Statehouse this morning, state officials and first responders urged Ohioans to have plans in place in case of disasters, either natural or man-made. Gov. Ted Strickland says one of the scariest things about the terrorist attacks was that Ohio and the nation were not prepared for such an emergency.

The state's public safety website ready.ohio.gov lists resources on creating safety kits and on helping people with disabilities, preparing businesses and even dealing with pets in times of crisis.
