Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Civil rights group surprises some by speaking out on "Joe the Plumber" records controversy.
By Jo Ingles - November 18, 2008
The Ohio Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union says the state needs to do something to prevent state workers from improperly using databases. ACLU attorney Jeff Gamso says the problem came to light recently when some state agencies used those systems to get information about Samuel Joseph Wurtzlebacher....also known as Joe the Plumber.

Gamso is calling for state agencies to make clear rules on how this data can be used. He also says legislation or an executive order by the Governor would be a good idea too. The head of Ohio's Department of Job and Family Services, Helen Jones Kelly, remains on paid leave right now as she is investigated for getting information about Wurtzlebacher that was possibly used for political purposes.
