State workers union accepts contract with mandatory furloughs, pay freeze.
By Jo Ingles - April 1, 2009
Some 35,000 unionized state workers will soon be taking unpaid days from work as part of a new labor contract. The contract also specifies union workers will not receive pay increases over the next three years. On the flip side, Douglas says union workers are satisfied to know that they will retain their health care benefits at no additional cost.
