This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. Crime tends to trend up in summer, but economy has law enforcement very worried this year.

Summer is coming. And Attorney General Richard Cordray is worried the warm weather and poor economy will be a dangerous combination in Ohio. In an interview with Ohio Public Radio's Jo Ingles, Cordray explains how his office is making grants available to help make summer safer for kids.

Cordray says the new rules for the money will now allow police agencies that offer drug prevention programming as the key part of a larger program more of an opportunity to take advantage of the funds. Community police agencies wanting to apply for the money can do so now through the middle of May.
