For the second time in two years, Ohio legislators are working on a plan to crack down on payday loan stores. The House Financial Institutions Committee held a hearing on it today. Lawmakers and Ohio voters last year approved a limit on the interest rate the lenders may charge, but many of the stores are charging about the same amount as before, by tacking on extra fees.
