It seems that, often in recent years, when a citizens group collects signatures on petitions to put a proposal onto the Ohio ballot, some of the paid petition circulators are caught, giving misleading or downright false sales pitches. Instances of forged petition signatures also pop up regularly. That's why the Democrat who wants to be elected Ohio's top elections official has just proposed a new law to more closely regulate petition campaigns. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports. |
