An Ohio State University professor says when a lot of people are voicing their mistrust their government, it's time to take a close look at the homicide rate. Professor Randy Roth has done extensive research on homocide rates in the U-S and in other countries and has found an interesting corollary.
Roth says when the homicide rate is lowest, the society at that time isn't one you'd want to live in. For example, he says the homicide rate was lower in America during the Great Depression. Roth has compiled a historical violence database which is housed at Ohio State University. |
