Ohioans who find themselves without power should not immediately worry that everything they've stored in their freezer will be lost. Julie Shertzer of the Ohio State University Extension office says the most important thing is to make sure the freezer door isn't opened. |

| Shertzer says if the food in the freezer has thawed, it should not be re-frozen. She says the best thing to do is keep a thermometer in refrigerators or freezers so you can always be certain food does not get too warm. |
