The summer season brings hundreds of anglers to Lake Erie where they haul in tons of perch and walleye. Recreational fishing brings in hundreds of millions of dollars into the Ohio economy, but state officials say that income is threatened by the arrival of a new fish to the waters of the North Coast. Asian carp are actually seen as a threat to the entire Great Lakes region, and several states are pressing the federal government to keep them away. From Ohio Public Radio member station WCPN, David C. Barnett takes us to a Lake Erie fishing community to gauge the potential impact of an Asian carp invasion.
