This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. In 2010, the most bitter and high-profile statewide election contest in Ohio was the race for governor. The contest between incumbent Democrat Ted Strickland and Republican challenger John Kasich set a new record for total spending. And the onslaught of charges and counter-charges that appeared in TV ads was relentless. In the latest part of our series looking back on the year in state government and politics, here’s statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen on the governor’s race.
