Ohio is once again the leading state in the nation, at least when it comes to one measure of what you might call “green action.” Ohio has the most local communities that have earned the honor of being declared a “Tree City USA” community. For more details, Ohio Public Radio’s Bill Cohen contacted Wendy Van Buren. She’s a regional urban forester for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Last year, Ohio cities, towns, and townships planted more than 28,000 trees on public land as part of the project. |
