Health officials have just confirmed Ohio's first human case of West Nile virus this year. They say they knew it was coming, because the annual revival of the mosquito-borne disease always comes in the summer. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen talked about the yearly resurgence with a spokesman for the Ohio Health Department, Christopher Weiss. Weiss says less than one per cent of people who are bitten by an infected mosquito become seriously ill, so most people don't wind up in the hospital. |
