The mediator who's trying to bring the two sides together in the long- running Ohio school funding battle says he's "hopeful" about an out-of- court settlement.
Appointed by the State Supreme Court, Howard Bellmon has come to Ohio from Wisconsin to try to help lawyers for schools, for legislators, and for Governor Taft agree among themselves on a new way to pay for education, so that the 11-year legal battle could finally end. Bellmon talked with statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen, just before going into the second closed-door negotiation session Friday. |
