Ohioans Are Helping to Fight Wildfires.
By Jo Ingles - August 20, 2001
Some Ohioans are helping to put out wildfires in the western United States. About 20 employees from the state's department of natural resources are helping their counterparts out there as they fight spreading fires. In an interview with Ohio Public Radio's Jo Ingles, the ODNR's Mike Bowden explains how the state's crews are helping. Bowden says the Ohio workers who are helping in this cause are being pulled from their duties at the Wayne National Forest, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and from various paid and volunteer fire departments throughout the state.
