Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Year in Review, Part 2.
By Bill Cohen - December 20, 2001
Capital punishment made big news in Ohio this year -- in three ways. First, Ohio executed its first unwilling death row inmate in 38 years. Then, another death row inmate won court delays, putting off his execution. And then, legislators voted to unplug Ohio's electric chair, so it can never been used again. This week, Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen has been reviewing for us the year in state government. This report focuses on crime and punishment.
