Columbus Zoo Helps Kabul Zoo.
By Jo Ingles - January 18, 2002
The animals in the Kabul Zoo in war torn Afghanistan will soon be getting some help from Ohioans. The Columbus Zoo will be one of the international organzations trying to help the animals in the Kabul Zoo. Columbus Zoo Director Emeritus Jack Hanna says there's a missionary effort to take food and clothing to the afghan people. In an interview with Ohio Public Radio's Jo Ingles, Hanna says zoo supplies will be sent along on that trip too.
Jo Ingles reports (2:43)
Hanna says other zoos around the state and country are taking part in another effort to aid the Kabul Zoo. He says that fund drive has raised more than a hundred thousand dollars in one month to help the animals in that zoo.
