Voinovich Asks Feds For Money For Water Upgrades.
By Jo Ingles - February 8, 2001
US senator George Voinovich is asking the feds to cough up about $3 billion
per year for the next 5 years to help local communities upgrade their wastewater
treatment facilties.
Jo Ingles reports (2:46)
The money Voinovich is seeking would go into a federal loan fund already set up for this purpose. But he says, in the past, that fund has not been given enough money to get the job done.

Seventy-five communities throughout Ohio are now using loans from this fund. Voinovich says, with the increased funding, money would be available to help up to 150 of Ohio's cities and towns upgrade their wastewater systems.
