This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Though there are still some issues to be worked out before Ohio's ballot will be set in stone, there are no uncertainties about getting access to the ballot. Carlo Loparo with the Secretary of State's office tells Ohio Public Radio's Karen Kasler that time is running out for the million-or-so Ohioans who aren't registered to vote. There have been challenges to the validity of voter registration forms filed by the AFL-CIO, the NAACP and the non-profit Project Vote. 56 counties already use online voter registration, and the state all counties to be online soon. |
