More than 70 business leaders and a dozen state officials are in the Far East, for the state's fifth international trade mission. The group is trying to sell Ohio as a prime location for bio-tech, research and advanced technology industries. Statehouse correspondent Karen Kasler spoke to Governor Bob Taft while he was in Toyko, and asked about changing the perception of Ohio as a heavy manufacturing state to a more high-tech image. The governor's office claims four previous trade missions have brought in 473-million dollars in new investment in Ohio and have created nearly 14-hundred jobs. The group returns October 3. |
