More than a million Ohioans have already filed their state income tax returns, and most of them filed on-line. Gary Gudmundson with the Ohio Department of Taxation says his office is bracing for a second rush of filers closer to the April 15 deadline. Gudmundson says now may be the best time to file, especially for taxpayers who plan to call the state’s hotline for help with their returns. On peak days, the Department of Taxation takes as many as 50-thousand phone calls. And Gudmundson says the lull also means returns…and refunds…will be processed more quickly. |
