An Ohio University student is facing criminal charges after a frightening incident at the main campus library. Athens police arrested 25-year old Ryan Salim at the Alden Library around 10 p.m. Tuesday night. Salim is accused of kidnapping his roommate and making him drive around the state at gunpoint. Salim's roommate was able to escape and called police. Police then tracked Salim to the library. Sophomore Scott Florkey and senior Zach Boileau were at the library as police cleared the building. Officers say they found Salim carrying two loaded handguns and an extra clip of ammunition. Salim is being held on $20,000 bond. |
