The mother of Columbus' suspected highway sniper broke down on the stand in her son's trial this morning. Ardith McCoy was questioned by defense lawyers about how she reacted to hearing that her son Charles McCoy Junior was connected to the 12 sniper shootings, including the one in November 2003 that killed 62 year old Gail Knisley of Washington Court House. McCoy could face the death penalty if convicted in the shootings. McCoy's lawyers say he's mentally ill, and didn't know what he was doing was wrong. |
