An Ohio based shoe retailer is being sued by the state. A few months ago, D S W, also known as Designer Shoe Warehouse reported computer files containing personal information from customers had been stolen. This stolen data included credit card numbers. Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro says the problem is that not all of the 700 thousand customers affected have been notified of the problem. In an interview with Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles, Petro explains people whose information has been swiped have a right to know. Petro says Ohio is the first state to sue the retailer over one of the biggest security breaches of its kind in the nation. D S W could not be reached for comment on this story. |
