Natural gas bills are predicted to soar by hundreds of dollars for the average user. And the situation is so serious that lawmakers have held hearings to find out what can be done. Advocates for the poor had asked for the release of federal temporary aid to needy families, or TANF, funds, and Governor Bob Taft says he's working on that. Federal experts have estimated natural gas bills in the Midwest could climb by 70 percent this winter |
