For the first time, a major political party in Ohio has nominated an African-American to run for governor, but there’s a twist on this historic development – it’s the Republican Party. And it has chosen one of the most conservative politicians in modern-day Ohio politics – Secretary of State Ken Blackwell. Blackwell won a clear victory over attorney general Jim Petro in the G O P primary yesterday. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports. |
