| Minimum wage hike backers confident they'll make the fall ballot. |

Groups backing a casino gambling issue and a repeal of workers' compensation reforms have been told they're falling short of signatures to make the fall ballot. But organizers of the petition drive to put a minimum wage proposal on the November ballot believe they have enough valid signatures. Tim Burga with the Ohio AFLCIO says the reports he’s getting from counties are encouraging, though the Secretary of State's office has sent out a letter saying they appear to have fallen short. If the official ruling shows they're short the required number of signatures, the group will have ten days to get additional signatures to make up the deficit. Burga says he doesn’t think that will be necessary, but if it is, he doesn’t believe there will be a problem getting those signatures. |
