Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

Gas prices creeping down, but no one credits the oil companies.
By Bill Cohen - January 19, 2007
Gasoline priced at under $2 a gallon would have seemed like a fantasy last summer, but it's a reality at many gas stations across Ohio right now. Last July, the average price was more than $3, but since then, the price has plummeted. The top lobbyist for the major oil companies in Ohio, Terry Fleming, explains it this way.

Fleming says when prices were much higher, motorists complained bitterly, but now that they've dropped, no one is praising the oil companies. Fleming says he's learned to accept the fact that the oil industry has a negative image.
