More condemned killers in legal limbo thanks to lawsuit over lethal injection.
By Bill Cohen - April 10, 2007
Ohio's attorney general has released the yearly update on death row, and there's one noteworthy change from last year's report. It's the number of death row inmates who are now in limbo, thanks to their joining a federal lawsuit that charges Ohio's mix of lethal injection chemicals amounts to cruel and unusual punishment. Leo Jennings, a spokesman for attorney general Marc Dann, talks about that with statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen.

A federal appeals court is now considering the inmates' claim that - while Ohio execution appear peaceful, the prisoners' suffering is being masked by a paralyzing agent in the lethal injection cocktail.
