Under pressure from the Ohio EPA, the city of Columbus is planning to build a tunnel system to handle surges in storm water runoff. At present during heavy rainfall, polluted water empties into the Scioto River untreated. The first phase of construction is scheduled to begin in 2010. From Ohio Public Radio station WOSU, Sam Hendren reports. |
