One Ohio lawmaker thinks it should be illegal for anyone to purchase a law enforcement officer's uniform in the Buckeye State. Democratic Rep. Stephen Dyer says he wants to introduce a bill that would outlaw that practice.
Dyer says an incident in his district recently brought the situation to his attention. An armed man entered Manchester High School wearing a Summit County's Sheriff Deputy uniform. Dyer says it's chilling to know that a private citizen can legally obtain a police agency uniform and masquerade as an officer. |
