Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

After years of fighting "music politics", Cleveland scores a permanent slot for Rock Hall ceremony.
By Karen Kasler - April 2, 2009
Great news for Ohio and for music fans, as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies come to Cleveland this weekend. Columbus-based music historian and reporter Jack Marchbanks has covered several induction ceremonies, and says he's been talking to rock hall officials about when the ceremony would come back to Ohio.

And Marchbanks says there's a simple reason the event has been in the Big Apple for so long. It's estimated the ceremony could add as much as $10 million to the local economy. The first and only induction ceremony in Cleveland was in 1997, when the Jackson Five, the Bee Gees, and Crosby Stills & Nash were honored. This year's inductees include Jeff Beck, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Metallica, Run DMC and Bobby Womack. You can hear and see the full interview with Jack Marchbanks on this weekend's "The State of Ohio" on PBS stations statewide.
