| Lippe points out low income and elderly customers who lack internet connections are disproportionately hit with the increased fee. Lippe says customers who do have internet access can find directory assistance information for free by using major search engines. He recommends phone customers who don't have internet access dial one eight hundred free 4-1-1 to get directory assistance. Lippe says customers will have to listen to an advertisement in order to get the free information.
