Order Online : "The State of Ohio"
This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. And more thoughts on legislation that would dramatically change rules on unions in Ohio.

High school students may soon be able to get class credit for ROTC.
By Jo Ingles - November 18, 2009
The Ohio House has passed a bill that is meant to fix a problem with the curriculum prescribed for use in Ohio's high schools. Democratic Rep. Danny Bubp says this bill will add J-ROTC to the list of electives students are allowed to take for credit for graduation.

The Ohio Senate will now take up the issue. If the senate gives its approval, Ohio high school students will be able to take J-ROTC as an elective course for credit starting in the 2010 - 2011 school year.

Rep. Danny Bubp (R-West Union) (:32)
