A group that's been pushing to let voters decide to allow slot machines at race tracks in Ohio is one step closer to getting that issue on the November ballot. Spokesman Carlo Loparo says LetOhioVote.org was short a little more than 27,000 signatures. But he says the group has now submitted more than 177,000 additional signatures. LaParo says it's important Ohioans get their say on the issue, even if new casinos will soon be built in four Ohio cities.
Gov. Strickland and the Ohio legislature had moved to put the machines at racetracks last year, before they were stopped by legal action from LaParo's group.
