Ohio legislators are probably facing a money hole that's between $4 and $8 billion dollars, as they get ready to fashion a new two-year state budget next year. It's a dilemma that could prompt either a tax increase or massive spending cuts. Or it could mean a mix of both potentially unpopular options. Last year, lawmakers signaled that they wanted to start planning very early how to deal with the financial crisis. But that planning still hasn't begun. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports on the latest maneuvering. |
