Ohio lawmakers will meet today to comb through a long list of proposed changes to Senate Bill 5. Sponsoring Republican Sen. Shannon Jones of Springboro has 98 pages of revisions, including a ban on public employees’ right to strike, and penalties for people who do it. The changes put off a vote that was anticipated yesterday. Still, Gov. Kasich, who was in Cincinnati to announce a cabinet appointment, is optimistic.
The bill could be voted out of committee later this week, and could be on the floor of the full Senate next week. |
