Supporters of Ohio’s new collective bargaining law have been worrying about a looming referendum on it in November. Polls show most Ohioans don’t like the overall thrust of the law and might vote to kill it. That’s why some of the law’s backers have reportedly been talking about the idea of having the pending ballot issue split up into several issues, some of which might stand a better chance of surviving. Now, though, Ohio’s top elections official is nipping that plan in the bud. Statehouse correspondent Bill Cohen reports.
