This week on "The State of Ohio": The budget is on its way to a committee that will hammer out the differences before the end of the month deadline. Wildlife agency changes rules on tagging deer and turkeys as hunting season approaches.
By Jo Ingles - October 6, 2011
Ohio is making changes that should make it easier for hunters to tag deer and turkeys. In an interview with Ohio Public Radio’s Jo Ingles, Vicki Irvin of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Divison explains the new policies are now in place.

Irvin says businesses that sell hunting licenses will still check deer and turkeys as part of the sales agreement with the state. She says hunters in Ohio bagged 230,000 deer last year and about 20 thousand turkeys.
