This week on "The State of Ohio": State lawmakers consider what they can do in the wake of the horrible and yet miraculous escape story out of Cleveland involving three women held prisoner in a house for a decade. New data shows more than half of all violent crimes are committed by a very small numbers of offenders. Lawmakers are now working to target that tiny group. Kasich talks about exotic animal tragedy, and about executive order that might have prevented it.

Animal advocates say Gov. John Kasich is at least partly responsible for the escape and slaughter this week of dozens of exotic animals from a farm near Zanesville. That’s because Kasich let lapse an emergency order that former Gov. Ted Strickland imposed in January. WKSU’s Kabir Bhatia reports on why the Humane Society and others say that order could have prevented the tragedy.
