While US Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) works quietly behind the scenes as on reducing the federal debt, fellow Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) is downplaying debt reduction in favor of maintaining social programs. Both Senators held telephone press conferences this week, and as Bill Rice of member station WCPN in Cleveland reports, their approaches to governing are as starkly different as ever. |
