For the first time, Ohio now has a law against terrorism. Up till now, terrorist acts could be punished under old laws against murder, kidnapping, and other crimes. But Governor Bob Taft has just signed a new law that makes it possible for prosecutors to go after terrorists under a special statute. Under the old laws, terrorists could be given the death penalty. That won't change under the new law. |
