A talking machine can now save your life if you have a heart attack. The gizmo
is called an automated external defibrillator, A.E.D. for short. |

That's Doug Young of the American Heart Association. He says - when people have a heart attack, their natural pacemaker is out of control and electrical charges are going wild.
What the A.E.D. does is provide a shock that stops all the extra charges so the heart can begin to regulate itself naturally again. |
