An Ohio lawmaker will introduce a plan this week that she says will save the lives of hundred of Ohio women each year. Republican Representative Jean Schmidt’s plan would raise the reimbursement rate doctors and medical facilities are paid when they do a mammogram for a woman who has private insurance. Currently Ohio law says a maximum of 85 dollars total can be paid for each mammogram but Schmidt says an average mammogram costs around one hundred and five dollars. |
